This is a bunch of stuff I've made outside of work.
Project Wednesday
This is an open source project. I created a tool for gaining insight into personal interactions using instant messaging log data. The project is available on Google Code.
Bravery
The main goal of this project is to stop me from being a self-conscious moron. The initial focus was on singing, since I'm particularly ridiculous about sharing my voice with others, and since I wanted to improve my singing, breathing, and posture. So, there's a collection of recordings for which I practiced very little, and had amateur equipment, backing tracks, and post-processing.
That was the focus back when I had a lot of time home alone. Now I'm working on expressing myself through fashion, rather than trying to blend in. People seem more hesitant to interact with me, but I get a lot of compliments. Interesting.
Book group
I never really liked traditional book groups, not because I don't like discussing books, but because they force you to read on a particular schedule and you must deliver your comments and respond to others' comments in one evening. I decided this must be remedied, so I created a book group online, comprised of my friends regardless of location. We select books through a nominations and voting procedure instead of the rotating selection common to in-person groups. Discussion on any book may begin or continue at any time after the folder is made.
Crafts
I mostly crochet. I keep a record of all my yarn projects at Ravelry. Photos of these and additional projects can be found on Picasa.
Photos
I keep most of my photos on Picasa these days.
